EMERGENCY CHECKLIST

Being ready for an emergency in Louisiana is essential. 2theadvocate is dedicated in providing you the latest information to be better prepared for an emergency situation. We continuously strive to improve the preparedness and protection of Louisiana residents and visitors by providing all emergency preparedness contact numbers and hurricane and weather maps. Emergency Supplies:

  • Fill Vehicle with Fuel or Charge Vehicle Battery
  • 3-day Supply of Water (1 gallon per person per day)
  • 3-day Supply of Food (Suggested items including: canned meats, canned or dried fruits, canned vegetables, canned juice, peanut butter, jelly, salt-free crackers, energy/protein bars, trail mix/nuts, dry cereal, cookies or other comfort food)
  • Can Opener
  • Flashlight(s)
  • Battery-powered Radio (Preferably a weather radio)
  • Extra batteries
  • First-aid Kit (Including latex gloves; sterile dressings; soap/cleaning agent; antibiotic ointment; burn ointment; adhesive bandages in small, medium & large sizes; eye wash; thermometer; aspirin/pain reliever; anti-diarrhea tablets; antacids; laxatives; small scissors; tweezers; & petroleum jelly)
  • Small Fire Extinguisher
